Easy Button
September 9th, 2007
Today was my first day at Staples; yes, home of the Easy button. I mostly don’t like it because there really is a lot to know and a lot of expectations for my job and they won’t pay me any more than minimum wage. I mean I could go work at at job where I just have to show up and breath, and make the same amount of money. There’s a guy who’s been there for 2 years, who is trained in all of the store departments, and he gets $8.00/hr. Probably one of the more interesting things I learned in my tutorial today is that copyright law is big deal there. If some one wants a color copy of their wedding picture, that was taken by a professional photographer, I’m actually supposed to tell them “sorry, no dice pal.” Well, not in those words, but you get the idea.

a) hi!!
b) I love your paintings. All of them.
c) We’re both married. We must discuss.
d) You SHOULD definitely tell them, “sorry, no dice pal,” in those words.
Love,
B
I just found out what the Easy Button is, and am incredulus that people actually BUY it. Staples must have some amazing salespeople.
I hope you are blogging again soon
Hey Alisha,
One of the things I advertise as part of my photography is that people CAN print their own pictures by going with me…and save a bunch doing it. (I make my money with the actual sitting fee.)
If I give my client’s a letter to show the Staples service people explaining that I am the photographer and I give them permission to make prints/copies of the photos, does this help? What CAN I give them that will let them make duplicates there should they want to?
Just curious :O)
Blessings…
