Some new work.

h1 December 29th, 2008

This is a series of 8″ x 10″ paintings on Yupo paper.  I love the simplicity and spontaneous, yet intended, imperfections.  It’s a type of very abstract landscape that I’ve been working with for a while.  I think these look best displayed either individually, or all together, horizontally.

There’s always this internal struggle I have.  For me, I need to paint abstracts and they’re a type of painting, of mine, that I would really like to hang in my home….but I’m always a little hesitant to show them, because I know they don’t display as much skill as some of my other paintings.

However, I’ve come to the realization that the more an artist can quiet that “what will they think?” voice, the more authentic, fulfilling, and meaningful their work becomes.

***Prints of these three paintings should be available soon, in my Etsy shop.  To be notified, just subscribe in the upper right hand corner.

  2. I really love these! I totally understand your struggle! But simplicity is beautiful and can show just as much of the “artist” in you as anything else. Great job! :)

  3. I love all of them. I think my favorite is the one with the oranges, red’s and browns. Very Cool!!
